About

Born in Australia, Darryl learned photography from his father starting with a venerable Olympus Pen D - a jewel of a camera. After moving to Switzerland in 2006, he decided to focus on his photography and especially on those images which he finds most inspiring - minimalist images which evoke peace and serenity.

While he still loves working with film, most of his work is now purely digital. A light touch is used in post-production to give a consistency in feel and quality.

Influences are many and varied but include the masters: Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and their contemporaries plus Micheal Kenna, Micheal Levin, Susan Burnstine and the UK writer and photographer Barry Thornton.

Darryl lives in the village of Bernex, close to Geneva.
